Danny, Army National Guard

Danny joined the National Guard as an 18-year-old. He was deployed to Anbar Province, Iraq for 22 months, providing route security and neighborhood patrols. Danny was a university student prior to enlistment. While he was gone, the house he was living in was sold. When photographer Brian Lesteberg met Danny, Danny had been living in his car for nearly three months.
