| Putting
a Human Face on the Affordable Housing Crisis
The deep personal stories reflected in Portraits
of Home II highlight the range and scope of housing needs facing
veterans and their families across Greater Minnesota. By putting
a human face on veterans’ needs for affordable housing, the
exhibit seeks to engage policymakers and concerned citizens in
addressing housing challenges.
With strong partners, like the Minnesota Veterans Assistance Council
and Heading Home Minnesota, Greater Minnesota Housing Fund supports
a state-wide vision to help end homelessness and create affordable
housing opportunities for veterans who have so bravely served our
country at a tremendous sacrifice to themselves and their families.
Working together to strengthen partnerships among government,
civic, faith-based, business, and community groups helps ensure
the availability of decent, safe and affordable housing for all.
Every year scores of community leaders throughout Minnesota work
to construct and rehabilitate hundreds of affordable homes in Greater
Minnesota. This good work stabilizes both families as well as communities.
While it is the hope of every family to live in a safe, decent
and affordable home, much remains to be done. |
