Oscar and Mireya and their daughter Melanie, 13 months, stay at their temporary home in the basement of a Church. They left Brownsville, Texas in November 2004 in search of work. When Oscar's van broke down in St. Charles, near Rochester, the family decided to settle in the area. Though working full time as a welder earning $11 an hour, Oscar finds it difficult to save for a mobile home he would like to buy.
