As a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), Greater Minnesota Housing Fund assembles financial resources and tools that support the creation of safe, decent and affordable housing for low- and moderate-income families and historically underserved emerging market households throughout greater Minnesota.
MHFA and GMHF Consolidated RFP Greater Minnesota Housing Fund partners with Minnesota Housing (MHFA), the Metropolitan Council, the Family Housing Fund, the Saint Paul Public Housing Agency, and the Minnesota Department of Corrections to fund housing proposals through a Consolidated Request for Proposals (RFP) process. RFPs are published typically in late May or early June, with application deadlines in August and Septemeber.
Funds are available to assist in the development, construction, acquisition, demolition, or rehabilitation of affordable homeownership, home improvement, including manufactured homes or rental housing activities, for low- and moderate-income residents of Minnesota.
The Consolidated RFP represents an effort to coordinate the resources available within Minnesota Housing and its partnering organizations, and to address communities' comprehensive housing efforts. All current information and application forms for the Consolidated Request for Proposals are available at Minnesota Housing's website for download and review.
Minnesota Housing and its RFP funding partners have also developed a Common Application that can be used for Multifamily funding applications. This application includes the proforma, narratives and submittals and eliminates duplication to simplify the process for applicants applying for multiple sources of funds through Minnesota Housing, it’s funding partners and collaborating partners.
